Raymond Eugene Ostrum, 68, of Billings, who started Buffalo Treasures, died Monday, Aug. 15, 2011, after a two-year battle with cancer.
He was born in Billings on July 22, 1943, to Carl and Firmus Ostrum. After serving in the Navy, he owned Ray’s Saddlery for 10 years. He then worked in the cattle industry and as a painter. Later in life he started Buffalo Treasures, making canes, walking sticks, pictures and clocks.
Survivors include children, Kevin Ostrum and Misty Ostrum; sisters, Karleen Hague and Joyce Stimpson; a brother, Don Ostrum; and four grandchildren.
Services were Aug. 20 at Cremation & Funeral Gallery. Inurnment followed in Rosebud Cemetery in Absarokee. Arrangements were by Cremation & Funeral Gallery.
