Dan Lackman, 54, a farmer who spent every spare moment in the mountains, died Sept. 1, 2011.
He was born Jan. 29, 1957, to Marjorie and William Lackman and attended schools in Billings. He was a member of 4-H in his youth and was also involved when his children joined 4-H.
He graduated from Billings West High School, where he was a gymnast. He took mechanized agriculture classes at Montana State University Bozeman.
He married Valerie Lofthus in 1979. They lived on the family farm, west of Billings, where he was involved in farming and the cattle business. Two children joined Mr. Lackman, his father and brother in the farming operation.
He was participated in hunting, snowmobiling, four wheeling and Harley-Davidson motorcycle riding. A benefit fund-raiser was held for him in 2007.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Luke Lackman; a daughter, Stephanie Wright; a grandson; parents; and a brother, Steve Lackman.
Services were Sept. 6 at the Parkhill Assembly of God Church. Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary had charge of arrangements.
