Phil M. Golden, 64, a retired Postal Service employee, died Monday, Oct. 24, 2011.
He was born in San Jose, Calif., on Sept. 9, 1947, to Philip R. and Ann M. (Bettencourt) Golden. He graduated from St. Francis High School and then served in the Air Force for four years. He returned home to California and worked 30 years with the U.S. Postal Service, retiring in 1997.
He married Mary (Tyo) Golden on May 17, 2008, in Billings.
He was a volunteer at the YMCA and participated in the Walk ’N’ Talk with the Doc program with Cheryl Cook. He was an active member of Alcoholics Anonymous and had almost nine years of sobriety.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Esther Golden; a son, Robert Golden; a stepson, Kelly Mullins; a granddaughter; sisters, Margaret Grant, Elizabeth Cuevas and Maria Orris; brothers, David Golden, William Golden and Dan Golden; and a stepbrother, Steven Golden.
Services were Oct. 29 at Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary in Billings.
