Emma Teresa Zawada, 96, a homemaker known for her dill pickles, died Jan. 29, 2012.
She was born March 14, 1915, in Miles City, the fourth of six children of John and Mary Kosty. In November 1935 she married John Zawada. They moved from Miles City to Billings in 1955.
She was a homemaker who raised flowers and vegetables. She was an avid card player.
She had lived at Prairie Towers for eight years and had been a resident for the last 11 months at Diamond Willow Personal Care.
Survivors include sons, Chris of Deer Lodge, John of White Sulphur Springs and Jim of Billings; a sister, Katherine of Waterloo, Iowa; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
Visitation was Feb. 1 and services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 2, at Dahl Funeral Chapel, with a luncheon to follow. Interment will be in Mountview Cemetery.
