Ronald Girard, 61, who had worked 25 years for Car Quest, died Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2012, at his home in Billings of cancer.
He was born in Glasgow on July 12, 1950. He attended Glasgow High School and graduated in 1969. Upon entry to Eastern Montana College in Billings, he received his draft number of 15 and enlisted in the Army. He was stationed in New Orleans.
After his discharge, he returned to Glasgow where he was employed at Valley Motor Supply. He married Kathleen Girard on Aug. 19, 1978, and they moved to Billings. He had been regional sales manager for Car Quest before he retired due to illness.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Bridget Girard; mother, Pauline Riggin Myhre of Glasgow; a sister, Shelly George of Glasgow; and brothers, Don Girard of Silver Lake, Kan., and Russ Girard of Yakima, Wash.
A celebration of his life will be held later this month. In the summer his remains will return to one of his favorite places on earth, Fort Peck Lake. Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary has charge of arrangements.
