Ramona Julia Moralez, 84, who moved to Montana from Mexico with her husband, died Monday, Feb. 13, 2012, at Billings Health and Rehabilitation.
She was born Dec. 16, 1927, in Salamanca, Guanajuato, Mexico. In 1958 she married Jose Moralez of Montana, who had gone to Mexico looking for a wife.
She left her family and immigrated to the United States, arriving in Chicago on July 11, 1959. They then moved to Pompeys Pillar, where they lived for many years before she moved to Lockwood to be closer to her grandchildren.
She made quilts, had a garden and rolled tortillas to loud Mexican music on Saturday mornings.
Survivors include children, John Moralez and Jessie Moralez Haydal, both of Billings; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services were Feb. 17 at Dahl Funeral Chapel. Interment was in Pleasantview Cemetery in Ballantine.
