Donald Leroy Brown, 94, of Billings, a retired federal employee who also had worked at the Rimrock Foundation, died Thursday, April 19, 2012, at Billings Health and Rehabilitation Community.
He was born in Chamberlain, S.D., to Robert and Lillian Brown on Dec. 17, 1917, the oldest of three boys: Robert, Ted and Richard.
He enlisted in the Navy on Oct. 5, 1943, and was honorably discharged on April 12, 1946. He then worked both in the U.S. Bureau of Land Management and the Indian Health Service. He retired from the government as a personnel officer with the Indian Health Service.
After he retired, Mr. Brown worked as a loan officer at Billings Federal Credit Union. He then took a position as a counselor with Rimrock Foundation.
On Nov. 16, 1947, he married Lillian Rosemary Dalton.
He had a passion for sports, participating in bowling, fishing and golf and watching other sports.
Survivors include his wife; a brother, Bob Brown; daughters, Karen Brown and Paula Brown; two granddaughters; and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation was April 23 and services were April 24 at Cremation and Funeral Gallery. Interment was in Mountview Cemetery.
