Sarah Nicole Osborne, 27, who had fought osteomyelitis for more than two years, died Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at Billings Clinic.
She was born in Billings on Nov. 12, 1984, to Kelly Mikel and Matthew Magstadt. On Sept. 19, 1987, her mother married Dale Osborne in Billings, and he formally adopted her in December 1988.
She briefly attended kindergarten at Beartooth Elementary School before the family moved to Laurel. She attended Laurel schools and played on the State Championship Girls Major League Slow Pitch Softball team (Ace Electric) in 1997.
When she was 15, she was diagnosed with Type I diabetes. She had had osteomyelitis since June 2010.
She had worked at DJ’s Steak House and had been an assistant manager at Montana’s Rib and Chop House.
She had received care from physician’s assistant Stephanie Morup and Dr. Robert Schultz of Billings Clinic Orthopedics & Sports Medicine and from Drs. Cathy Stephens and Steven Arbogast.
She donated her corneas upon her death.
Survivors include her parents, Dale and Kelly of Helena; a brother, Tanner of Billings; and grandparents, Barbara Mikel of Billings, Daniel and Jan Magstadt of Billings and Glenn and Elaine Osborne of Great Falls.
Services were July 16 at DanWalt Gardens in Billings. Arrangements were by Cremation & Funeral Gallery.
