Thomas “Tom” F. Solomon, 87, a retired district manager for Mountain Bell, died Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2012.
He was born to Louis J. and Margaret Lily (O’Leary) Solomon on March 31, 1925, in Anaconda. In 1943 he graduated from Anaconda High School and a month later joined the Navy.
He served in the South Pacific during World War II as a radioman, received an honorable discharge in March 1946 and returned to Montana.
He married Marjorie McLain on Sept. 27, 1947, in Deer Lodge, and they recently celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary. He was a lifelong Montanan and outdoorsman.
He worked for Mountain Bell in Billings for 37 years, retiring as district manager. He and his wife traveled after retirement.
Survivors include his wife; children, Sharon Solomon, Dennis Solomon, Theresa Helus and Lynette McBroom; and two grandchildren.
Memorial Mass was Nov. 6 at St. Pius Catholic Church with Rite of Committal in Holy Cross Cemetery. Arrangements were by Dahl Funeral Chapel.
