Beth Ann “Betty” Martinson, 90, of Billings, who had operated a home daycare and a family business with her husband, died Friday, Jan. 4, 2012, at St. John’s Lutheran Nursing Home.
The daughter of Michael and Catherine Hauk, she was born Oct. 19, 1922, in Terry. She married Walter H. Martinson in Miles City on Jan. 3, 1941. During World War II they lived in Florida while he served in the Navy. Following his discharge they returned to Billings where they operated a family business for 50 years. She later operated a home day care.
Survivors include three daughters, Donna Neuheardt of Billings, Vickie Spelman of Red Lodge and Debbie Turner of Billings; a brother, Don Hauk; two sisters, Catherine “Peaches” Feldman and Karol Willardson; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Vigil services were Jan. 9 at Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 10, at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church with Rite of Committal in Holy Cross Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or Special Olympics.
