Lindy Ray Stevens, 62, of Absarokee, a fan of music and the New York Yankees, died Monday, Jan. 7, 2013, at St. Vincent Healthcare.
He was born Sept. 30, 1950, in Pierre, S.D., to Arthur W. “Buster” and Maxine E. (Freese) Stevens. He graduated in 1969 from Central High School in Rapid City, S.D. He attended the University of South Dakota in Vermillion, S.D.
Mr. Stevens had lived in South Dakota and Montana before settling in Montana in 1981. In 1991, he married Katrina in Billings. They later moved to Absarokee to pursue their dream at the Chrome Bar.
Mr. Stevens played, coached, mentored and immersed himself in baseball. He listened to a wide variety of musicians.
Survivors include his wife, Katrina of Absarokee; sons, Ryan Stevens of Spokane Valley, Wash., and Cody Stevens of Bozeman; a sister, Margaret Molumby of Ogden, Utah; and five grandchildren.
Services were held Jan. 11 at Absarokee Evangelical Church. A celebratory gathering was held afterward at the Chrome Bar in Absarokee. Arrangements were by Cremation & Funeral Gallery.
Memorials may be made to the Lindy Stevens Fund at the United Bank of Absarokee or to the American Heart Association.
