LeRoy Bangert, 71, of Billings, who farmed and raised cattle before moving to town, died Jan. 14, 2013.
He was born Feb. 20, 1941, in Billings to Alec and Amelia (Miller) Bangert. He had an older brother, Robert, and a younger sister, Eileen.
The family farmed off Hesper Road, and he eventually took over the farm. After moving to town, he sold real estate, then sold cars for Pierce Automotive and drove a school bus for School District 2.
Mr. Bangert built and flew model airplanes and restored a 1929 Model A, which he built from the frame up.
He married Linda Langfiet, and they had three children: Karri, Mike and Donna. He later married Jane Frank, who also had three children: Rod, Jeff and Jan.
He had received care from Rocky Mountain Hospice.
Survivors include his wife of 34 years; children, Karri Vialpando of Kalispell, Mike Bangert of Billings, Donna Dummer of Dickeyville, Wis., Rod Frank of San Diego, Calif., Jeff Frank of Las Vegas, Nev., and Jan Schott of Billings; a sister, Eileen Roemeck of Red Lodge; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Services will be this summer. Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary has charge of arrangements.
