Lorenz Christian Heyd, 85, of Worden, a farmer and rancher, died March 29, 2013, at Horizon Hospice Home in Billings.
He was born Jan. 29, 1928, in Long Lake, S.D., the son of Christian and Christine (Sandmeier) Heyd. He grew up in Ismay, graduating from Ismay High School in 1948. He married Viola Adolph on Sept. 10, 1966, in Billings.
He spent his life farming and ranching, working his black Angus cows and going to cattle auctions. He was a charter member of Our Redeemer Evangelical Lutheran Church in Worden.
Survivors include a son, Jeff Heyd; two grandchildren; brothers, Leo Heyd and Marvin Heyd; and sisters, Ella Hyde and Lorraine Fowler.
Services were April 3 at Our Redeemer Evangelical Lutheran Church in Worden. Interment was in Huntley Cemetery, followed by a luncheon at the church. Arrangements were in the care of Dahl Funeral Chapel.
