George Cameron Friesen, 15, who would have played football for the Central Catholic High School Rams this fall, died July 13, 2013.
He was born Nov. 9, 1997, in Billings. When he was 3 years old, his mother, Lisa, enrolled him in Billings Gymnastics. He played Little League.
In the eighth grade, he received the Ram’s Chair Award for football players. He also played soccer, baseball and football and wrestled.
He started a haunted house to raise money for those affected by the Katrina disaster. The fundraiser also raised money for B.A.R.K. animal rescue, and he was a volunteer for Eagle Mount.
He was preceded in death by his father, Shaun Friesen.
Survivors include his mother, Lisa Lopez; and grandparents, Erminio Lopez and Mary and Robert Chavez.
Visitation was July 17 and will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, July 18, at Dahl Funeral Chapel. A vigil will be held at 7 p.m. July 18 at St. Pius X Church. Memorial Mass will be at 11 a.m. July 19 with burial and reception following.
Memorials may be made to Wings Trust via Boulder Elementary School. The Wings program supplies funds and equipment for students in the Delta Classroom, a program that focuses on children’s social skills, self-esteem and emotions.
