Faith Echo Bollman, 71, who served in the Civil Air Patrol, Marines and Air Force, died June 27, 2013.
She was born May 28, 1942, in Billings to Lyle C.E. Olson and Echo Olson. She attended Billings schools and graduated from Senior High School in 1960.
She was a Civil Air Patrol cadet and was among the first female cadets to attend jet training orientation and to become an officer. She enlisted in the Marine Corps on Oct. 3, 1960, and was discharged Oct. 2, 1964. She enlisted in the Air Force on Sept. 1, 1965, and was discharged on Jan. 26, 1967. She also served in the Marine Corps and Air Force Reserves.
She returned to Billings in 1971 and earned a bachelor of science degree in special education at Eastern Montana College.
She was known for her sewing, knitting and tatting. She was a member of Mayflower Congregational United Church of Christ. She had received assistance from Rocky Mountain Hospice and COR Enterprises.
Survivors include a son, Karl; a daughter, Sabrina Marshall; a granddaughter, Alys; three brothers, Sage, Roy and Dallas, all of Billings; and two sisters, Robin of California and Ione Ament of Billings.
Services were held at the Yellowstone County Veterans Cemetery in Laurel on July 17. Arrangements were by Cremation & Funeral Gallery.
