Donald Leroy Harden, 73, of Billings, a carpenter who started a company with a partner, died Monday, July 22, 2013, of congestive heart failure.
He was born Nov. 7, 1939, in Roundup to Gladys and Willard Harden. He attended school in Sumatra and Broadview and graduated from Lavina High in 1957. He attended Eastern Montana College and then went into carpentry, in later years starting a company with partner Andy Andersen.
He married Mary Popelka, and they had two daughters. In 1980 he married Sherry Helmey.
He and his wife were members of the Rimrock 4x4 Club and lifetime members of the Montana 4x4 Association. Their four-wheeling travels took them to several states.
He had received care from Valley Health Care, Sapphire Suites.
Survivors include his wife; daughters, Debbie Harden and Donna Delaware; a stepson, Brett Helmey; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren, with another due in the fall; sisters, Carol Hansen and Doris Van Dyke; and a brother, Jim Larson.
Graveside services will be at Lavina Cemetery at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 3, with a reception lunch to follow at the Cozy Corner Bar in Lavina. Arrangements are by Cremation & Funeral Gallery.
