Zachary Lee Lindsey, 20, who was preparing to attend Southwestern College in Oregon this fall, died Saturday, Aug. 17, 2013, in an accident.
He was born to Tobin and Pamela Lindsey on April 29, 1993, in Billings.
From an early age he played football, basketball and baseball. He was on a state championship team at age 10 in 2003. In 2004 he played with Wendy’s of Montana, a team that won state and went to regionals in Kelso, Wash.
In 2005 he played in the Northwest Regionals in San Bernardino, Calif. In 2007 his Junior Little League team won state and went to regionals in Beaverton, Ore. In 2006 he played for the Billings Blue Jays American Legion baseball team, which won district and went to state in Canada. In 2011 he played for the Billings Royals in the Northwest Regionals at Dehler Park.
He graduated from Skyview High School in 2011. For the past five months, he had been learning the remodeling business and working in the landscaping business.
He wrote songs with a band that had just completed a soon-to-be-released CD featuring him on the mic.
He planned to study the history of music and play baseball at Southwestern College.
Survivors include his parents; a sister, Alivia; and grandparents, Mayferd Allen and Betty Rae Lindsey.
Family and friends gathered Aug. 21 at Dahl Funeral Chapel. Services will be at 11 a.m. Aug. 22 at Faith Chapel.
