Paula (Johnke) Gallagher Kinn, 82, died Sunday, Nov. 10, 2013, after a stroke on Nov. 3. She had spent that day cooking and supervising the hanging of the outdoor Christmas lights.
She was born July 15, 1931, one of eight children of Otto and Lois Johnke at her grandparents’ home in Flatwillow in Petroleum County. She was delivered by her paternal grandmother, Theresa.
She could drive a team of horses and a semi-truck. She was an Avon lady for almost 40 years. She also had worked as a teller at Security Bank and at the Eastern Montana College bookstore.
She was known as an excellent cook and pie maker.
Survivors include seven brothers and sisters, Gene Johnke, Martin Johnke, Arlene Bond, Marie Fitzgerald, Bob Johnke, Jim Johnke and Steve Johnke; children, Karen Korell, Jack Gallagher and Randy Gallagher; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from noon to 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 14, at Cremation & Funeral Gallery. Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 15, at Atonement Lutheran Church. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
