Jeannine Marie Vondra, 84, who with her husband had owned Vondra’s Exxon and Carbon County Oil Co., died Jan. 7, 2014.
She was born Feb. 13, 1929, the first of two daughters of Irene and Irvan Powers in Chicago, Ill. She married Donald Vallee Vondra on May 21, 1949.
They moved to Boulder, Colo., in 1951 and to Red Lodge in 1966. There they owned and operated Vondra’s Exxon and Carbon County Oil Co.
Mr. Vondra died in 1982, and she sold the business in 1986. She retired to Billings in 1988 and joined the ministry of CareNet Pregnancy Center (Now called LaVie). In 2006 she became a resident at Aspen View Retirement Center.
Survivors include a sister, Celeste Hartmann; nine children, Tom, Mary Jo Oppegaard, Donald, Buck, Anne Jetmore, Christine Tronson, John, Margaret Asay and Catherine Henning; 38 grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life was held Jan. 12 at Faith Chapel.
