John ‘Jack’ R. Duffy

John “Jack” R. Duffy (Jack), 86, a longtime plumber in Butte, died Feb. 27, 2014.

He was born July 26, 1927, in Butte and married Barbara A. Zimmerman on Aug. 28, 1949.

Mr. Duffy worked for 30 years at Reardon Plumbing and Murphy Plumbing in Butte. He also served as president of Plumber’s Union Local 41.

He obtained credentials to teach in an apprentice program at Cleveland School and also taught the Plumbers Apprentice Program in Butte. Later he worked at Silver Bow Homes Housing Project for 15 years until he retired in 1990.

In March 1977, Mr. Duffy was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

In 1997 Mr. and Mrs. Duffy moved from Butte to Sierra Vista, Ariz. They moved to Billings to be close to family in 2011.

They have seven children: Robert Duffy, David Duffy, Jack Duffy, Dan Duffy, Colleen Kelly, Mark Duffy and Kathy Clifford. Survivors also include 20 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a sister, Dolores Graham; and brothers, Fritz Duffy and Donny Duffy.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 15, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 201 Wicks Lane in Billings. Arrangements are by Cremation & Funeral Gallery.
