Helene Miklovich, 91, of Lodge Grass, a retired teacher, died of cancer on March 20, 2014.
She was born Helene Rebecca Zier on Oct. 26, 1922, the 10th child of David and Mary Zier, who lived outside the now nonexistent village of Howard, Mont.
She graduated from Laurel High School in 1940 and worked with her family in the beet fields. She earned a teaching degree at Eastern Montana College and taught in communities around Montana.
She married Pete Miklovich in 1945 while teaching in Lodge Grass.
She had traveled widely, in recent years with a friend, Margaret Miller Torske.
She had received care from Heritage Acres and Big Horn County Hospital.
Survivors include a son, Carter Miklovich; daughter, Kari Streets; and six grandchildren.
A celebration of her life was held March 26 at the Fort Custer golf course clubhouse just north of Hardin. Arrangements were by Cremation & Funeral Gallery.
