Burton “Burt” Berg, 83, of Billings, an Army Air Corps veteran who was active in both the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars, died Thursday, March 27, 2014, at the Billings Health and Rehabilitation Community.
He was born Jan. 24, 1931, to Martin and Ruth Berg in Forsyth. Although primarily raised and educated in Glendive, he and his wife, Joylyn (Atwood) from Richey, lived in a variety of Montana cities, with short stints in Nevada and Louisiana.
Survivors include three daughters, Barb Johnston of Richey, Sherry Oxtra of Gillette, Wyo., and Loye Eschenburg of Fairfax Station, Va.; a son, Steve Berg of Billings; 11 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
A celebration of his life was held March 31 at the South Park Senior Citizens Center. Arrangements were by Cremation & Funeral Gallery.
