Darlyne L. Roods, 83, of Billings, who started a cleaning service with her daughter, died Saturday morning, May 31, 2014.
She was born the oldest of four children to Earl Grady and Grace Ryerson Grady of Valley City, N.D., on Oct. 21, 1930. She graduated as valedictorian from Marmot High School in Mandan, N.D., on May 31, 1949, and then attended Dakota Business School for accounting.
On June 18, 1950, she married Lloyd B. Herman, and they had three children. In 1958 they moved to Billings, and she worked at Parker Montana and Midland Implement as an accountant.
On May 9, 1968, she married Louis R. Roods and became a rancher’s wife on Pryor Creek. She started a cleaning service with her daughter in 1977.
Survivors include sons, Earl Herman of Billings and Scott Herman of Colstrip; a daughter, Pamela Jackson of Billings; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a brother, Pat Grady of Washington; and sisters, Ellene Mueller of Hawaii and Peggy Grady of South Dakota.
A private celebration of her life will be held. Arrangements are by Cremation & Funeral Gallery.
