Ranch Rodeo winners named

The third annual NILE Ranch Rodeo Finals were held Saturday, Oct. 10, in the Rimrock Auto Arena at the MetraPark. This year’s rodeo had teams representing ten sanctioned rodeos from around the region competing head-to-head. The teams were the S Ranch/Sunlight Ranch of Pryor and Wyola, the Fluss/O’Neill Ranches of Terry, the Crazy M Ranch of Martinsdale, Hagenbarth Livestock of Glen, the Leland/Larson Ranches of Sidney, Horse Creek Ranch of Sheridan, Seven Blackfoot Ranch of Brusett, O’Hair Ranch of Livingston, the Petermann Ranch of Wibaux and the L O Cattle Company of Sand Springs.

This one of a kind rodeo featured working ranch activities including bronc riding, team trailering, team branding, team doctoring, and wild cow milking.

Top three teams were:

1. S Ranch/Sunlight Ranch of Pryor and Wyola, MT

2. L O Cattle Company of Sand Springs, MT

3. Hagenbarth Livestock of Glen, MT

Additionally, the Top Horse award went to “Boons Bay” owned by the S Ranch of Pryor, MT and ridden by KC Verhelst. The Top Hand award was awarded to Clint Potts of the L O Cattle Company of Sand Springs, MT. The Top Horse received a silver bit and the Top Hand received a custom saddle made and donated by Bill Bernhardt of Bill’s Custom Leather and Saddlery and made by Bill Bernhardt of Billings. The silver bit was also donated by Bills.
